Here's my "scroll stopper," what made me click to download:

1. The cover. I was first drawn to the book by the cover. I read this genre, ie, historical fiction, especially novels set during WWI. The woman on the cover is dressed in the Flapper era. I also like to read books set in large cities, and the background image speaks to me. The cover fits in with most of the other book covers in this genre--tells me that this is a book I should explore.

2. The book description/blurb contains keywords that are meaningful to me. Putting WWI as a keyword did it. I'm also interested in learning more about the flu epidemic of the era. The synopsis sounds interesting and prompts me to take the time to read the excerpt.

The excerpt contains a great opening hook, although it can probably be edited to pick up the pace just a tiny bit (I found myself skimming over a couple of paragraphs to cut to the chase). The author's writing style fits the era. The premise is compelling but I'm not entirely convinced I would purchase this book because it might be too much "women's fiction" and not enough "historical fiction": I may not be the book's target reader. I like a good mystery, an element of suspense, or adventure to my historical fiction reads.

Hope this review helps publisher and readers alike!
