Oh, my word! That tiny slice of reading delight wasn't enough! The author has a way with words, using them like colors on a painter's palette, painting gorgeous word pictures.

I want to know more about her son, more about her girls. Does her marriage endure? What is Philadelphia like? How is the move--positive or negative?

There are so many layers to the story, and the few pages we get to sample just simply aren't enough. I want to read more, feel more, and to linger amid the pages.

I'm convinced that As Bright as Heaven will go on my 'must keep' shelf, and that this story will stay with me long after I turn the final page. It is books like this that make me so happy I'm a reader.
