Another great story from a superb storyteller author. Can't say I liked it as much as 'a fall of marigolds' or 'secrets of a charmed life' but it really kept my interest and I really like the historical fiction part of it. I enjoyed reading about the turn of the century, early 1900s and the spanish flu centered around Philadelphia. You get to know the characters in the story well and you root for each of them. Meissner's character descriptions get you involved in their lives and the lives of the people around them. You care for them and want them to be successful. The author really goes into detail about their lives and what was and was not available in those times. Traveling was sometimes an all day event.
