This is a beautiful historical fiction about the flu epidemic. Susan Meissner’s writing is like a warm hug. It just flows seamlessly and gets you into your soul.
I love that I can be entertained by fiction while being educated about a period of time. But definitely, not all of it is romantic. It has given a voice to so many who experienced a horrible plague, one that has seemingly been lost to history.
I loved meeting the Bright family and how the book goes between the girls and the women in the family. Going through what they all went through. It is just so tragic that this epidemic is almost forgotten completely about because of the Great War. Thank you to the author for bringing this all to life.
