This beautifully written story shows the complications of youth, love and loss. It begs us to ask the question: How do we know when a decision is “right”? Do we think of consequences when we make them? Do we care?

It reminds us that with every decision that we make, there are consequences, both good and bad, that will shape our future. And we can choose either to accept those decisions or to run from them.

I'm not going to lie, I'm a sucker for historical fiction. Personally, I normally read books on the second World War. However, I did really enjoy the story that was told in this Great War piece and plan on reading more during this time.
And while this might not have been any sort of "epic" story that was told, I thought that Susan Meissner did an excellent job giving us an example of just how one of the many families lived, struggled and survived during such a tough time in our history. It was just a outright GOOD story & I really enjoyed my time with the Brights.
