This book was perfect! It follows the Bright family through the Spanish Flu. I love historical fiction. In fact, it is my favorite genre. There was a lot going on in the book. The family has to relocate and they move to a funeral parlor owned by their uncle. The girls must adjust to life in a new city away from the only place they have ever know. When the flu hits everyone must sacrifice and it’s very difficult to be living in a funeral home when most of the city is dying. There is so much heartbreak but also extremely beautiful moments that make this novel a must read. I saw it originally from Book of the Month and I’m so glad they introduced it to me! If you love historical fiction like me I definitely suggest it!
