This book isn't my usual fare, and honestly I wasn't expecting to be that invested in it, but I was pleasantly surprised! It does an amazing job of showing the devastation that the Spanish Flu caused, and I think focusing on an undertaker's family was the perfect choice. There was also a very unexpected plot point about halfway through which I think shaped the rest of the story really well. I liked the decision to follow just the female members of the family, especially the three daughters—Willa was too angry, but Maggie was compelling, and I really liked Evie. Also, everything tied together very satisfyingly, and putting together the pieces leading up to the twist was quite exhilarating. TL;DR I'm glad I won this book!
