Historical fiction is my favorite genre and I have to say the Great War and the Spanish flu is what drew me in after reading the book description. Chapter one grabbed me from the start. Pauline's story of burying her fourth child and only son was heartbreaking. Her maternal instinct and grief were described so eloquently and I like her first person voice in telling her story. I definitely want to read this book and if I do not win it, I will just have to purchase a copy.
