Wow. That excerpt was way too short! This story drew me in from the first paragraph, and my heart is already aching for the mother who lost her baby. Historical fiction is my favorite genre, and I would love to know more about the history of Philadelphia. Furthermore, I've been wanting to read a book by Susan Meissner. Lastly, the cover is gorgeous and reflects the historical nature of the story. Thank you.
