The first chapter of this book is beautifully written, allowing the reader unto the broken heart of a mother who has recently lost her child, and is now preparing herself for a journey from the small town she has always known, into Philadelphia, where the unknown awaits. We fully sympathize with her feelings of disconnection, and her desire to walk into a new and unknown place.
