This is a thriller about how deception (innocent as it may seem to begin with) can cause devastating repercussions. Jessica Farris doesn't quite have enough money for rent and is rushing around the city trying to scrape enough together by doing makeup for spoiled young women who keep forgetting to tip. Then, a chance to earn a good amount of money arises and Jess jumps at it. Uh oh.
The author is descriptive and really pulls the reader in right from the get go, making imagining locations and the characters very easy. I like Jess. She's down on her luck and just wants a break and, it seems, that may be her downfall.
I loved it. I was hooked after a page and the end of the excerpt came too soon.
