I originally borrowed this from the library and didn't open it at all. However, once I checked it out a second time and began reading, I was instantly hooked. The main character, Jessica, is desperate and eager for money when she falls into a perfect situation. One of her makeup clients is going to dip out on a paid study being done. Jessica then goes to the study instead and becomes more deeply involved than she ever thought she would become. She begins to overanalyze every life choice and struggles with morality.
The story is not only told from our main character's perspective. We also have the perspective of Dr. Shields, the woman who is conducting the experiment. The deeper into the story we get, we learn how this study is not much of a study, more of an obsession.
There was so many twists and turns, some of which I could see coming, but was still an enjoyable read.
