Jess is a makeup artist for Beauty Buzz and one evening she is doing the makeup of a college age girl. This girl gets a text during her makeup session about a paid study starting the next morning at 8am, which the girl says is too early. While out of the room, Jess grabs the girls’ phone for the information for the study and she goes herself.
After a few computer sessions the psychologist behind the study wants to continue the sessions in person. The doctor, Dr. Shields, wants Jess to tempt her husband, who has cheated on her before, to see if he will do it again. Jess meets the doctors’ husband and sleeps with him before finding out that he is married to Dr. Shields and before Dr. Shields successfully sets the two up.
But in this study on morality the tables are turned, but on who? And who will walk away from this? Who really holds the control here? And who is taken along for a ride?
I thought this was a rather good read. I like the twists and turns, and love the ending. I just feel that a few points, we slowed down a bit too much for my liking, droping it to four stars.
