After reading "The Wife Between Us" also by Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen, I had high expectations for their second novel. While I did enjoy my read of this book, it unfortunately did not live up to my expectations. The premise of the book sounded extremely interesting to me and I enjoyed the beginning a lot. There was a good build of suspense but the ultimate reveals of the book just did not seem to be that interesting or as high stakes as I wanted it to be.

This book did not do many of the things the average suspense/thriller novel does today which is not a bad thing, I just had different expectations of what would happen. This book focused much more on psychological torment which was an interesting way to go. It was good, but not especially rememberable. I will probably pick up Hendricks and Pekkanen's next book (and hope it's a little more similar to their first).
