This story is about a female psychiatrist, Dr. Lydia Shields, who suspects her husband is being unfaithful again, so she decides to set up a bogus "research project" as a means to lure unsuspecting women into a game of cat-and-mouse; Dr. Shields screens young women via an online questionnaire, and chooses the ones most likely to succeed in seducing the her husband. Jessica, a young makeup artist who is dealing with her own personal struggles, is the second woman Dr Shields chooses for her twisted experiment.
As the storyline unfolds, we see just how manipulative Dr. Shields is; she focuses on how money drives many of Jessica's decisions and uses that (along with giving gifts) as driving force behind the tasks Jesicca is made to compete.

This is a good story, but it tends to drag a bit. The writing does not stray from the authors' first novel. I do want to thank them as well as the publisher, and of course Bookish, for the opportunity to read the abvance copy.
