"And sometimes the people who seem the most accomplished and together are the ones who can hurt you the deepest."

An Anonymous Girl by Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen is an Adult Mystery/Thriller that I read as part of the #owlsreadathon2019 prompt for the "Arithmancy" challenge which is to read a book written my two or more authors. I just read their other book The Wife Between Us and loved it! Sadly, I didn't like this one as much.

The story follows Jessica Farris who is a make-up artist who is struggling financially so decides to sneak into a well-paid psychology study hosted by Dr Shields. Jess is asked a number of morally grey questions like "could you tell a lie without feeling guilt?", "describe a time in your life when you cheated?" and "have you ever deeply hurt someone you care about?". The chapters alternate between Jess's point of view and Dr Shields who is assessing whether Jess is a good candidate for Phase 2 of the study which involves becoming a bit more hands on by being involved in morally grey situations rather than just answering questions on morality.
