The cover of An Anonymous Girl drew me into this novel. We meet a girl who does make up in New York for parties, and other social engagements. She tells her mom she is doing make up for a production. Her funds are limited and when she accidentally hears a client about making $500 for a few hours of her time doing a study she decides to show up in her place, especially when her client probably won’t show up!
