"Almost Home" is set at the beginning of WWII and follows a group of people that, due to circumstances beyond their control, end of together in a boarding house. The characters are very believable and you will quickly become part of their family. There is an underlying mystery surrounding a folk tale and plenty of lovable and not-so-lovable boarders.
This book was an easy read, but totally kept my attention. You will start to root for the young married couple as well as the down on their luck couple that runs the boarding house. Everything is tied up neatly in the end, mystery solved and even a surprise!
I have a feeling that these same characters may appear in a later book and think that "Almost Home" would make a great Hallmark movie
