This is a story that takes place in the 1940’s. Dolly and her husband Si rented rooms in their house. From the minute I started reading this book I really liked these 2 characters and imagined visiting their house. It was very chancey as they had no idea what kind of people would be living there. They had a problem with 2 of the boarders but Si took care of them. Anna and her husband ended up living there, they were having problems in there marriage but thinks took care of themselves while living at the boarding house.
"All we can do is the best we can do, and all we can see is what's in front of us. So there's no point in looking back and judging ourselves based on things we know now but didn't know then." (p 54). Very poignant book, I highly recommend it.
