Almost home was such a sweet story! The characters in this book are people you would be blessed to call your friends. Set in 1944, Dolly & Si Chandler are struggling to pay the property taxes on their lovely Alabama home so they take in boarders. Th. This is a wonderful story of friendships and is a true page-turner. I couldn’t wait to know what would happen next. There is mystery and romance in this book. This is a heartwarming story that shows the financial and personal struggles the characters go through, being unemployed, losing farms, struggling marriages and losing loved ones. It started out really slow but I kept reading and the ending picked up in pace and made it all worthwhile. This is a good story and I highly recommend it.
