I'm sad I didn't really like it. Nothing against the book or the writing, I just realized this genre is not for me. It was a tad bit boring.
When I read the excerpt it sounded like there were some mystery going on, and the anticipation was there. The mystery is there - the missing treasure, but it gets forgotten. It wasn't in the forefront of the story.
The friendships, the budding love connections - they were just so dragged out, everything else kind of got forgotten.
Also I couldn't understand who were the main characters in this group of people. At first I thought it was Anna and Jesse, that we will follow their story mostly. But it jumped to Reed and Daisy. It didn't really make sense. In the excerpt it seemed like the house or it's ghosts will have a bigger appearance, but it didn't.
This is a cute, light southern, bordering on Christian fiction, friendship novel but not something I would pick up again.
