I'm not much for 'slice of life' books and with the first chapter, this book comes off as such. The letter in the beginning is definitely a great way to catch the readers attention, lay down a bit of foreshadowing, but the rest of the chapter leaves something to be desired for me. I know that many people love these kind of books and for those that do I would recommend this to them! But for me, I like to read books that are out of the ordinary, ones that help me escape from day-to-day life. This, I feel like, would make me feel like I'm living someone else's realistic day-to-day struggles and that's just not something I look for in books.
