This is an excellent book for young people who might be reluctant readers. Though it is on the longer side, the characters are written so well. They are believable and relatable, and they readily pull the reader into their stories. There is also a lot of great, informative history. I really like the two perspectives and the way the way they ended up connecting with one another. This was a well-paced read that held my attention and kept me invested until the final page. This is a more serious read and deals with some difficult moments in history, but fans of historical fiction will definitely enjoy this one. I think it will also appeal to readers who enjoyed Forgive Me Not by Jennifer Baker or True True by Don P. Hooper. I think a lot of adults would also enjoy this read, especially if you are invested in learning more about history and events from the past.
