Let me start off by saying I LOVE Emily Giffin. However, this book was too "me too" for me. I just think the subject matter in the time it was released was just too statement-y. I really wish I could have gotten into the story more than I did because I truly wanted to like this book and had been excited from the time I heard it was coming out until I read it as a pre-release through another site. The one thing Emily always does well is make her characters well developed and relatable and that was definitely true in this work also. Spoiled rich kid, shy young girl, mama/papa bear parents...all components of many of the situations we hear about too frequently these days. I just would have liked to see less politicism and more story.
