I'm typically not the biggest fan of Emily Giffin's novels- not because they're not well written or without interesting plot lines, but because they're just typically not my genre.

However, I was surprised by the theme of her latest All We Ever Wanted, which delved into deeper issues such as class/wealth, privilege, race, and even date rape. While I wouldn't say it was the BEST* overall embodiment of these issues, I do respect that she stepped out of her box. Regardless, I believe that this is a timely novel for the time--not the only, and perhaps not the best, but still relevant.

The story kept my attention to the very surprising end. I would recommend it as a good novel and be interested in knowing how others thought Emily did with these topics.
