Unfortunately, this book was not what I have grown to love about Emily Giffin. I read a few of her earlier novels years ago, such as Something Borrowed and Something Blue, and loved them. This one just seemed a bit overkill with cliches and political bs. I was sadly disappointed. The plot line was okay but seriously, the political stuff is what killed it for me. I do not like to feel like I am being preached at when I read and I do not like to feel like someone is attempting to sway me one way or the other with their personal opinions or views. I read to escape all that in the real world. I most definitely do not what to read about it. Something I did love though, was that the story was told from several different people's prospective. I enjoy those types of storylines. I will attempt to read another Emily Giffin book, but I am hoping that she will get back to what she does best, chick-lit or rom-coms or whatever they are called now.
