I LOVED this book and think it will definitely be a favorite of the year. This book covers some hard topics, but it is done so well to evoke emotion in the reader. I was invested in this story, and it made me think about the culture in America regarding so many different issues.
I think the intimate look at wealth, privilege, race, class, and rape culture was explored wonderfully. This wasn't an easy book to read. It challenges the reader to think deeply about where they stand and what they would do in a situation like this. This novel also explores the importance of standing up for what's right even if it means going against everyone around you. I think that there was a lot of courage in the characters in this novel, too.
