This books opens with a quiet build up of suspense as Griffin deftly shows the undercurrent of anxiety running through two very different parents- the rich mother of a boy poised to go to an Ivy League school and the working father of a girl sneaking out to a party. I can’t wait to see there this is going- though it’s anticipation mixed with dread.
