So, two chapters in and already a cliffhanger... The story begins with Nina describing her marriage to Kirk, a software developer who recently became wealthy. Theirs is not the happiest of marriages, but from the outside looking it most people would probably think they have no problems, what with the regular galas, the money and a son headed to Princeton. Chapter Two shifts the focus of the story to Tom, a single dad who is trying to raise his handful of a teenage daughter. Tom and Nina's worlds collide when their kids are involved at a incident at a teenage party. What was the incident? what exactly happened? how will a middle-class dad and a wealthy mom react to the news? All questions reserved for Chapter Three and beyond.
The author pulls you in, gets you caring about the parents and the children and then takes off running. Looking forward to reading the rest of the book.
