This book has to me what are the indicators of someone wanting to be a writer, but just not quite having the hang of it yet. Awkwardly plunging into a story line, using too many big words in not quite the right way and not nearly enough contractions, making the dialogue sound stiff. Maybe the story is good, but it's hard for me to get past the writing style.
