It's such a different book with characters that have perspectives that I think a lot of teens will be drawn to. Like for the right kid, this will be a game changer.

There are lots of trigger warnings here, so be kind to yourself, reader.

This is a book of grief, betrayal, loss, immigration, religion, and yes, rage. So much rage. Noor is just so angry all the time, and rightfully so. She wants so much more than what life has given her, and every time she tries to do something to get that life, she's pushed back. Sal is grieving and trying his best, and he makes choices that he thinks are for the best.

They aren't for the best. There are very, very real consequences for his actions. I think teens are going to be very surprised by this, and cause them to think twice. Honestly, I can't think of a book that really tackles all of these issues in the same way.
