So good!
Salahudin and Noor are high school students in Juniper, California, both with family ties to Pakistan. They’ve been friends since the first grade and have not only been through a lot of prejudicial treatment at school, but have suffered tragic losses in their home lives as well.
This was the kind of book that requires a good head space going in. People can be so cruel, and the hurt that piled on these teenagers felt overwhelming as the book progressed. I felt the rage, especially for Noor. The last chapter felt redemptive and brought this around for me, otherwise it might have been more depressing than I could do (especially in February 😉). I loved the writing and the multiple narrators in this audio really brought it to life.
All My Rage had a well deserved @nationalbookfoundation award for Young People’s Literature in 2022.
