This YA novel about Pakistani families currently living in California has me wanting to keep reading. Sal's rage stemming from the illnesses of both his parents is understandable. Noor has a plan for her future but who knows if it will come to fruition. Right now I just want Sal and Noor to mend their friendship and help each other get through this phase of life and into the next. The expectations for first generations immigrants in the United States must be daunting. I can't imagine what it's like but I do know as a minority you have to be twice as good. This would be the first book by this author I will read and I'm looking forward to it. I'm not exactly sure what the half circles and colors represent on the cover but I expect it will be revealed as you keep reading.
