This is a problematic story about two young individuals who are facing some really tough circumstances. The story is told in the perspective of the three main characters, Misbah, Sal, and Noor. The characters are presented in a very relatable way. Noor was taking from a tragic situation to another one. She was my favorite character because of her perseverance despite the obstacles thrown in her way.

The author included Noor’s native language, Punjabi. So the writing was definitely unique. The author made it where you didn’t have to know the language because she would translate the sentence in English, so that made it easy to follow without pulling out a dictionary. The themes of the book is all about physical abuse, addiction, and family. This was an emotional read for me. I loved the ending and I didn’t feel as if it was rushed or hurried and it really flowed with the plot. I loved this book from start to finish!
