This is legitimately one of the best books I’ve ever read. It’s intense, and sad, and heartbreaking—but powerful in a way I haven’t seen before. Sabaa Tahir was already one of my favourite authors, but this book made my opinion of her even higher. The messages in this book are extremely important for everyone, and honestly everybody should read this (Check the content warnings, though. They are listed in the book itself and also at the bottom of this review. This book is intense, and could bring up bad memories for some people). Noor and Salahudin were two of the best characters I’ve ever read about. The book was witty and sad all at once, exactly the type of thing I like, and talked about so many important issues such as domestic abuse, sexual assault, addiction, and racism.
