All My Rage is one of those powerful books that readers will never forget. Although the protagonists are teens, this is much more than a YA story with brutally honest struggles. There are the characters that immediately pull one into the story, the unique setting of Pakistan for portions of the plot, the cultural aspects (an arranged marriage), and the clash between different generations. Added to all of this is the struggle to survive, operating a business that is almost a dying breed: the small, independent motel. This novel will bring to mind books with equally unique stories such as The Henna Artist, The Arsonist's City (a previous BookishFirst offering that I loved), and perhaps The Kite Runner, but also there are the intense emotions of YA life as in The Firekeeper's Daughter, Frankly in Love, Fountains of Silence and many more best sellers.
