The writing in this excerpt is gorgeous. Stunning. I wish I could wield the English language like a precision blade the way Sabaa Tahir can. Not that I would put my characters through quite as much pain as she does. I thought the characters in Ember in the Ashes series were put through a lot but they have nothing on these characters. The title is appropriate -- this excerpt is full of rage. It's painful to read, in the way all the best break-your-heart things are.
