"All My Rage", by Sabaa Tahir had my attention from the first page! Ms. Tahir does an amazing job of describing her characters, the setting, and a plot that was well thought out and holds the readers attention from page to page. I love learning about cultures that I am unfamiliar with. Ms. Tahir gives great insight to the Pakistani culture. I quickly became engrossed by the many characters in this novel: MisbahI who at the age of eighteen has just been told by her mother what she is to be wed to a young man that she has never met. Her father, sensing her fear, tells her that she is strong like him, and will make the best of it. Will the fortune teller's predictions come true? Salahudin (Sal), a young man that has recently broken up with Noor, after she professed her love for him. His world is in turmoil as he deals with an alcoholic father, a mother who is battling liver disease and a new girlfriend who is not perhaps the best choice for him. Noor has her own demons to deal with. She has to contend with running into Sal and his girlfriend at school, and the need to want to leave the town of Juniper for college. I've enjoyed seeing how the characters lives intermingle with one another, and I look forward to reading the remainder of this novel and posting my reviews.
