Sal and Noor are former best friends who are facing the everyday drama of their families. Sal’s mother is sick and his father has turned to drinking. Noor is dreaming of college, but her uncle is planning on her helping out in his store after high school. I liked seeing how both of them are currently handling their situations, and how their lives are still getting interconnected because Sal’s mother still wants to treat Noor as a daughter. Mixed in with this present day drama is Sal’s mother’s past. I’m really excited to see how her story develops too and how her past is affecting her family’s present.
