With just a few pages in, the author has already doused the reader in Sal's highschool life by introducing a sick mother, an alcoholic father, a teen mom, drug deals, and a broken relationship with his best friend. A book with this many trigger warnings ought to be good and it already feels reminiscent of Khaled Hosseini
