I am really looking forward to reading more of this book. The first few pages tell a story of a life so alien from my own experience that I am intrigued. Although I am an immigrant as well, this family's experience is worlds apart from mine culturally and I enjoy looking at the world through other people's eyes. It allows me to live a whole other life and get insight into the human experience that can't be achieved introspectively. I get a sense of darkness and suppressed emotions at the very start.
