Wow. I love when a book is so obviously close to an author's heart, and I think you can really sense that in these opening pages. It's hard to keep reading knowing that there's pain ahead, but it's engrossing and I can tell the family and character dynamics are going to be hard hitting.
I personally don't know that I'll be able to read this - alcoholism is definitely one of my triggers and I'm grateful for the content warning provided at the beginning - but I can see how so many people will enjoy this and get a lot out of it.
