I enjoyed the bonds between father and daughter and the book really captivated it extremely well. I found that the childhood memories to be very vivid as the experiences were defined to reveals this uncomfortable nature given the actually situation when it happened. This memoir was extremely detailed in its account of the family’s own struggles as they endured the father’s surprising truth. I felt that it forced the difficult times to the forefront as well as give insight into how a secret can impact various relationships. When reading this book, I felt extremely appreciative of Hall’s writing style and ability to capture very vivid moments throughout the years of inside this family unit. A truly remarkable memoir and I felt it depicted courage to a grand degree as the father’s reveal alters the lives of everyone surrounding him.
