I really enjoyed this book. The author shared the incredibly personal and honest story of her father's sexuality and the choices he made throughout his life. This story was full of pain and incredible love.
At times I can struggle reading memoirs and non-fiction. My favorite part about this book was that it read so well. While the story is primarily about the author's father, Ralph, it is also about her growing up, her relationship with both of her parents and the family dynamics. I really wanted to know more about each of the family members and had to keep reading. I also really appreciated getting a better understanding of the history of gay rights, learning about where progress has been made and where it hasn't. I think this is a very accessible read and a good recommendation for a wide audience. Honestly, I can't think of anything I didn't like about it. A great read overall!
