Laura unfolds her story by introducing the reader to the kind, loving, and creative man her father was. The story telling draws the reader's interest, especially if you have experienced the journey of your own family member who is gay. Ralph's journey is a reminder of how dangerous it was to be gay in the 1940s and 1950s. Laura tells the story of her journey with her beloved father beautifully. I loved it.
