I've always wondered how many stories like this there are out there, so I am interested in learning more about this one particular family's story. I've also been curious about how such a secret impacts not only the one keeping it, who feels like s/he can't be his/her true self, but also those who learn of the secret. In this case, it seems the mother knew of the secret for many years but went along with it, so I'm curious what kind of an impact that had on her and I hope that's covered in this book.
