Initially, the first few pages in the beginning were a little bit too slow for my liking. Although, when it started to pick up I became hooked. I love the Dark academia vibes I'm getting from this book. Also, I love how the main characters are black, AND they're a part of the LGBT community. It is giving me One of Us is Lying and One of Us is Next vibes. Absolutely, love the theme of blackmail. Additionally, I really like the changing POV of the main characters since their so different yet similar in a way. Devon, an underdog-type role, who is not rich, and doesn't like being in the spotlight. Meanwhile, Chiamaka comes from money and loves being in the spotlight and at the top. Based on the cliffhanger the preview left us at I am sensing this book is going to be dark, twisty, and gripping. It's going to be living us at the edge of our seats guessing and wondering.
