In my opinion, writing two POVs is a make or break depending on how well the author does it - and she did it phenomenally!! Both Chiamaka Adebayo and Devon Richards were protagonists that I truly wanted to keep reading from the perspective of, and I never found myself skimming with either of them. Not only are they compelling protagonists, but they can both be relatable to many. ACE OF SPADES also covers very important issues through both perspectives and the author, Faridah Àbíké-Íyímídé, does this excellently.
Something else really admirable about ACE OF SPADES is that before I even opened the book, I was enamored by the cover, from the portraits of Chiamaka and Devon to the patterns and colors. The design is absolutely gorgeous and encapsulates the vibe/aesthetic/atmosphere of ACE OF SPADES perfectly!
