This book was one of my most anticipated books of the summer! I was drawn in by the comparison to Gossip Girl and Get Out -- which I think was completely accurate. I will also compare this to The Other Black Girl, but in my opinion BETTER! The story is about the only two Black kids at a rich-kids private school who are suddenly targeted by a mysterious texter named Aces. As they struggle to find out who is behind Aces while simultaneously trying to protect their reputations, they uncover dark secrets that permeate their community. This book is well written, the characters draw you in, and the ending is... WOW. I wanted more back story and more of a look into the future (there is a little glimpse at the end) and I could see this book having spin offs. But also, I loved exactly where the story was left. Beyond the book, the author is incredible, she wrote this book during undergrad and had it published as she graduated!! So cool.
