As a black person I’m trying to read more books with black rep. This book intrigued me because of the synopsis and is a thriller with more than just white people. This book was dark and creepy and the author did an amazing job portraying every issue she covered in the book.
This book includes mentions of white supremacy, racism, homophobia, bullying, death, suicide and more topics that may be triggering so look for those before reading.
The book is about Chiamaka and Devon who are the only two black students at Niveus Private Academy. They get selected to be part of the senior class prefects which is a great start to their last year of high school. Shortly after though, an anonymous texter by the name of Aces starts revealing secrets about them to all of the students. Chiamaka and Devon need to stop Aces before things go wrong.
I’m not going to spoil anything so that’s all I’m going to write but I 100% recommended reading this and finding out what happens. I was so hooked reading this and scared, sick, sad and angry during so many points. There are TW’s I’d look at before reading though. Please read this!!
